This painting was inspired by my faith and the moments in life when I have felt completely overwhelmed, yet found strength in Jesus Christ. I was listening to Master the Tempest is Raging / He’ll Carry You by Hilary Weeks, and the lyrics deeply resonated with me—especially the lines:
"He knew there'd be moments when no earthly words could take away your sorrow, that no human eyes could see what you're going through. When you've taken your last step, and done all that you can do, He will lift your heavy load and carry you."
These words became the foundation of this painting. I needed a visual reminder that I am never alone, that even in my hardest moments, Christ is there, carrying me when I can no longer carry myself.
I hope that anyone who sees this painting feels comfort, peace, and reassurance. Life can be overwhelming, and there are times when we feel like we’ve given all we have, yet it’s still not enough. This painting is a reminder that in those moments, Christ is there. He knows our struggles, our sorrow, and our burdens, and He is always willing to carry us through them. I hope viewers find a sense of hope and strength, knowing that they are never truly alone.
I chose this subject matter because it is deeply personal to me. My faith has been my anchor in difficult times, and I wanted to create something that visually represents the power of Jesus Christ’s love and guidance. The act of painting allows me to layer emotion and depth into the image, making it more than just a picture—it’s a testament to faith, perseverance, and divine support. The style is meant to evoke warmth and reassurance, capturing the feeling of being lifted when we feel we cannot stand on our own.
This painting is more than just art—it’s a reflection of my journey and a reminder that, no matter how heavy life feels, we are never carrying it alone. He is always there.
