Inner Storm was inspired by the raw, unfiltered chaos of human emotion—the internal battles we fight, the storms that rage within us, and the resilience that keeps us standing. The image of ribs as a structure represents both fragility and strength, while the tornado symbolizes emotional turbulence—grief, anxiety, or even transformation. The screaming mouths embody the voices of fear, doubt, and pain that often echo inside us. The cardinal, however, represents hope, guidance, and a reminder that even in the midst of the storm, there is light and purpose.

I want viewers to connect with Inner Storm on a deeply personal level. Some may see their own struggles reflected in the chaos, while others may find comfort in knowing they are not alone in their pain. I hope it sparks introspection—urging people to confront their own inner storms but also recognize the beauty of resilience and the ever-present possibility of hope, symbolized by the cardinal.


I chose this medium because painting allows me to layer emotion, depth, and energy into every brushstroke, creating a visceral experience. The surreal, almost dreamlike style lets me blur the lines between physical and emotional reality, making the piece more symbolic and interpretive. The subject matter—the storm within—felt like a universal truth, something we all experience but rarely express.
